Laws and Guidelines

Trade business owners are required by law to comply with Work Health & Safety (WHS) legislation, and each state had different forms of this legislation. All states except Victoria and Western Australia must comply with the Work Health & Safety Act 2011, including the WHS Regulation 2011 and relevant codes of practice. Navigating these regulations as a trades business can be complex, therefore we provide you will all the tools and advice required to simplify the process.

As of January 2013, new Work Health and Safety regulations state that a “Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking” (PCBU) – which therefore applies to all trades businesses – must provide and review a Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) for high-risk construction work.
